As much as possible, all products at Norwoods are sourced as close to home as we can. From fresh chanterelle mushrooms and herbs growing in our back yard, to local cheese makers from the island and lower mainland that tend the animals as well as cure the cheese. We strive to source and support these artisans whenever possible. A list of them is featured on the first page of our menu. Menus are printed in house which gives us the ability to change the menu at a whim whenever ingredients come in and out of season. Often the captain of a fishing vessel will call the restaurant 12 hours before they reach port and let us know that they have ling cod, salmon, rock fish, halibut or octopus. We can then formulate the menu and be serving it 4 hours after the boat docks. No middle men, just fresh caught fish. This goes for fruits and vegetables as well. Cold weather crops such as mache and arugula are available year round and fruits like kiwis and figs are available in the summer due to our mild climate.
